Cautious Optimism

Welcome to the 8th edition of Fands Mail. The year 2008 has brought to an end a dream run for the Indian IT organisations. The current year as we are addressing is of “Cautious Optimism”. It is creating a scenario where business enquiries are not slowing but business decisions are.

I think this is not just a time to think of strategy to “beat the slowdown effect” it is also time to reflect on all the nice things that we enjoyed in the last couple of years. One of the privileges I have had as CEO of Fands Infonet is the fact that we have Positioned Fands as a Corporate Training organisation that has pioneered a number of Programs and that too with our internal trainers.

I think this would not have been possible without
  1. Having a large number of clients across the country
  2. Having trainers who prided on being pioneers

But above all, this would not have been possible without the Total Trust many of the clients have repeatedly shown in our trainers. I take the opportunity to thank the umpteen number of times clients across the country have shown confidence in providing us opportunities to conduct training in new areas for the first time. I am listing a few firsts that I am really proud of.

  1. April 2006 BEA, Bangalore Weblogic Administration
  2. June 2006 Agile Development HCL, Noida
  3. August 2006 Information Security Consultancy, Cybage
  4. April 2007 Delloite _ Mastek Weblogic Integration
  5. April 2007 TCS- Hyderabad, EDS Chennai - AGILE Project Management
  6. July 2007 Vertex, Pune – Nhibernate
  7. Dec 2007 S1, Pune – Websphere internals
  8. Jan 2008 Computer Associates, Hyderabad, SAP Business Warehouse Manager
  9. Feb 2008 Motherson Sumi, Gurgoan, BO XI V2
  10. March 2008 Cognizant Struts 2.0

Other Strategies for 08 – 09

As is clear the market is sending mixed signals to SMEs like us. In booming times, for SMEs in the Knowledge industry, the salaries are daunting and it becomes difficult to get good people and in an not so upbeat market like today, SMEs are afraid of maintaining a buffer or rather cannot afford to

To address this issue, we have decided to keep growing our head count even in the forthcoming year. We have commenced development of some Internet product which will be developed by the spare resources if they remain spare!!!! Que Sera sera!!
